Hi Dave,
I have been racking my brain over this one and can not see the logical =
fix to look for so.
Check the position of the spoons in relation to the damper rod; perhaps =
they are catching the rod  when it is moved or some such thingie.

  The serial number has a D in front of it, which to me suggests =
Dongbei.  The dealer told the owner that it was an American piano, and =
