You guys scared me. I too use the Wagner planer. I set my drill press at highest speed (3600 rpm). Just dug out the original paper work. Operating speed 3000 to 6000 rpm. You've missed a zero as I had suspected. Or maybe they did. For years I've wanted to build a simplified version of Ed Solenbergers key cutter. Some day. The feature I like is it will adjust so that more will be cut off at the tail than the head to compensate for the different thickness. I'll take some pictures soon of my set up and my jig for cutting the fronts. Cheers!
