Intermittent ZINGing Chopin on M&H 1923 model AA

I agree with Mike. Start with the condition of the guide bushing. If the
wire has been  over bent, or under bent, the damper drives to one side or
the other as it lifts.
It could be wearing the bushing down. To bend it right, you might have to
change the top offset. That's the first two bends above the string. When you
pull the damper, rough up the felt to make sure a chunk of dirt or something
isn't stuck in the felt.
If the damper is sitting on a harmonic, regulating it differently might
help, such as favoring the front felt a little more.
Listening through a hose will pin point a wire noise but your pianist is
going to have to be pretty good to get it to zing while you're standing over
the piano.
