Bob:

I think the Walters are very good pianos. I have several customers
with them (I tuned one yesterday that averaged 17 cents flat after 9
years without being tuned) and we have 14 of them here at SMU. I've
found the break to be very smooth with just minimal voicing. I don't
think anything else comes close in that size. Any piano that's
better is considerably larger.

I have a client who is considering new vertical pianos as a gift for
her daughter, and one in the running is the Charles Walter. I just
saw my first one last weekend, and that only briefly. The general
workmanship looked good, treble was a little short on sustain, tenor
break not the best. Any other comments, specifically about scaling,
workmanship, serviceability of the Langer action, how they are with
warranty work, anything else?

Thanks
