Yamahahaha has no motivation to actually deal with whatever problem grey
market pianos actually present... at least no motivation to take any
positive steps.

Actaully... they could pretty easily put a nice big etching in the
soundboard, useing an appropriately pleasant font of course, stating
something to the effect that "This Yamaha Grand piano is optimized for
the Japanese Climate".

Some pianos actaully do this kind of thing. Alfred Knight for example
marks pianos made for tropical enviorments appropriately.
