Correction: I seem to have varnish on the brain. Remove the word varnish and
insert primer. This was on the lid of a Steinway Model A lid that had been
trashed at a state university by students who, apparently, had nothing
better to do with their time.

As may be, this incompatibility thing may be real. Nowadays when I try any
new combination of epoxy/finish I always test a sample first. If both
materials work as expected I go ahead with the project. So far, no other
combination has given trouble, but still....
