Lost motion compensator question

I haven't seen one recently, but I can't imagine how it would create a
problem. With the action out and turned around, you should be able to drop
the wippen out without even touching the rod, since the rod is in front of
the wippen and not attached to it. In fact, just refresh my memory, I looked
up the diagram in the Reblitz book. Yep, just as I remembered it. :-)
