Putting bass strings back on

First, are you sure you twisted the strings in the right direction? T\The 
twist shoul be in the direction of the coil of the wire. 

Second, not all bass strings need to be twisted. I have had several instance 
where the strings sounded better without a twist. The only way to tell is 
with the experience you had.
