It is more of a "are you doing your job" problem and a "cya" problem. As a tax payer, I can understand your frustration over the abuse. But, when you went to the superintendent and reported your findings, you essentially told her/him that they were not doing their job, as it is the superintendent's job to supervise the staff. This makes you a threat to not only the teacher but to the superintendent. The simple solution for them was to eliminate you and protect both jobs. Your better choice would have been the school board. You would have still lost your job but at least there wouldn't have been a cover-up. And maybe things would change. FWIW. BTW, what did the band instructor do to abuse the piano?
