Or.... and it's a big "or"... just nip off the end of the screw. No water, 
no heat.

drill hole
nip off tapered part of screw
insert screw
keep inserting screw until it bottoms out in the hole with the nipped-off 
part pushing against the bottom of the hole, thus pushing the broken bits 
out of the hole.
Save the altered screw for the next time.
Grin because your hole isn't hot and wet.
