I agree.  Music-, other instrument-, similar technology-related posts add interest and helpful knowledge, but the politics, rantings, etc. are out of place.  I was looking around for related technical info.  and found a jewelers' and goldsmiths' list.  They had fairly strict rules which one had to agree to in order to subscribe.  One rule was about staying on topic and if O.T. stuff, not to mention obscenity, vulgarity, flaming, ranting & raving found their way into a list member's posts, that person would be removed from the list!
