Just a bit of new news today.

One of the students who's had a chance to work with the two grands in one of our
professors rooms gave me some feedback today. She is aware now of what the basic
difference is, tho she does not understand much about the theory behind why Well
temps are constructed as they are. Her basic reaction so far is that she likes
both tunings, and recognizes some of the differences in how they sound. When
asked if she thought she could exploit any of the tonal characteristics of the
Well temperement, she was unsure. She did say she figured it was workable, but
probably not for 20th century music... (read whole tone, or atonal music), tho
she expressed a bit of reservation even there.

All in all, so far she seems mildly interested... but not overly so. I
encouraged her to continue to experiment with the instrument, and to hold her
observations to herself, for the time being.

Cheers
RicB
