Mice on the Keys

Mice Techs,

I once found a Korean grand where the mice pulled all of the tails of
the double and trichord
damper felts off; it made a nice nest, though I didn't find any mice.
Fortunately, the dampers
still worked, as the customer wasn't up to new dampers.

It took me a while before I realized that the key stains on the balance
rail and action side of
the keys that every upright I ever tuned seemed to have were mostly
rodent stains.
Considering how common these stains are I am surprised that we don't
find even more
droppings than we do.
