I use something akin to the Stanwood system, though actually its more on the
lines of Archimedis . Either way whether the stack is on or off is irrelevant.
The weigh off becomes a logical and mathematical consequence of the hammers
Strike Weight, the whippens vertical weight,  the Ratio of the action, and the
desired Balance weight.
