String length

Some of the bass string makers make a tape measure that has a metal loop on the end of the tape that you can loop over the hitch pin. Placement of the loop is calibrated so that the zero value is right at the rear side of the hitch pin. This is great for measuring bass strings, but can also be used to measure plain wires.
