What was your bill for this? I have tilted the mentioned piano
(it was 40 years rather than 10 years old)
filled the cracks with CA and clamped if necessary, waited, then
tuned. Not more than 6 hours even for 3 visits and a touch up
tuning 2 months later. Next year the tuning pins will be

Subject: Bass bridge puzzler

    Hi Gang:
Two weeks ago, I duplicated a bridge for a local tech from a
10 year old Baldwin console which had split in the usual manner.
After installation and attempting to pull the bass strings up to
pitch, the new bridge split again down the pin line on the
speaking length side of the bridge. Will now have to make
another, but don't want to have the same result. Any ideas?
HELP !
