Hand Protection/Reprise

True confessions ... and a warning.

I used Hot Stuff CA on a grand bridge. Used their long, thin plastic
applicator tubes. When I was finished, I didn't want the CA to dry and clog
the tube. Thought(?) I'd just blow it on through. Put the fat end to the
lips ...

Do I need to continue?

Didn't actually form a permanent kiss but there was just enough on there to
be activated by the old lip-spit accelerator and form interesting crusty
white ... oh, never mind.

I was going to file this under "stupid things never to do again," but all
five of those file cabinets are already full.

Thanks to all who responded. I used Vaseline and it worked great!!!! No
problems whatsoever! I did change my method a bit, but still no problems on
the second dousing! The first dousing brought most of the 50 inch/pound
tuning pins up to 100. The second dousing was for those who didn't make the
100 inch/pound criteria. Again, Much thanks! (boy, that's nasty stufff!)
BTW, it attacks plate finish, somewhat. :-(
Best Regards,
