Hi Brain, Do you put the iron directly on the keytops or put a cloth under it, maybe wet? Or use a steam clothes-iron? And yes I'm back home. It was a very interesting trip - seen a few piano rebuilding facilities too. One interesting thing: I have asked them what method of crowning they used - none used rib-crowning, and the reasons ranged from "that's the way I learned it at the Steinway factory" to "it's better with straight ribs"... It seemed to me that they didn't really bother to check what the differences are between the two processes.
