Well... I dunno about the USA.. but here Yamaha is so agressive they have even given away instruments. Last year they provided free concerts all over the continent... pushing aside Steinway D's and putting their own CF III on stage for a special event. They do similiar things all the time and it doesnt seem to help. I dont think its nearly as much a marketing question as some others will have it.
