Hey Dave, I took tools on board a plane with me in 1981 and the inspectors about had a cow. That was twenty years before 9-11! Call the airline for their suggestion. Well, you're a nice guy to work during a vacation! I don't even tune my in-law's piano in Kansas when we visit. (I'm a very baaaad daughter-in-law!) The way I explained it to them was, if something went wrong, I might not have the right tools or supplies with me. Sorry, there's not room in the car for both luggage and piano stuff. Now, if I was a proctologist, I could get away traveling with just a box of latex gloves! But, (no pun intended) I'll bet they wouldn't want my services! :-) I have a friend in Geneva, Switzerland, who was after me to tune his piano during my visit there. I told him I would do it if he paid my mileage. "What, you want me to pay for your vacation?" he asked. "What, you want me work while I'm on vacation?" I replied. Case closed. :-) Barbara Richmond somewhere near Peoria, IL ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Davis" <davistunes@yahoo.com> To: "Pianotech" <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2003 3:26 PM Subject: Tool Travel > Hi everyone, > > I'm heading for vacation in a week, and am planning to > take along some tools to tune a number of pianos for > my sister-in-law and her friends.
