Interesting combination of sounds you list up for us there Andre'. I havent heard many Pfeiffers.. just an upright from more recent times and it had a horrible transition from tenor to bass, but that was an upright. Seiler tho... hmmmm... I always hear this thinned out middle area in Seilers... beautifull bass and nice treble but that middle section has something I find it hard to put a word on. As for Feurich, Schimmel and Steinway... yep.... I can see what you mean in the Steingręber... more Feurich then Schimmel tho.. (havent heard the latest from Schimmmel so I have to leave those out) Apprapo the "make a soundboard" idea Dale dropped on us yesterday. Could be neat to get a complete enough list of soundboard parameters and try and see what comparisions we make subjectively match things we see from a desighn standpoint. I think Dale has a great point... the theory is often taken peicemeal and out of an overall perspective. Its great for those constantly are planting new soundboards in cases, but for most of us we end up with a lot of loose threads dangling there in front of us.
