This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hi Terry, If their piano is 25% (cents) or lower in pitch at A-4, it will be my 3 = step pitch raise system. I tell them that the first visit gets it up = there and that it will drift around in the 2 weeks before the 2nd = tuning. I tell them play it as hard and as much as possible to try to = knock it out so it will get the stretch out of its' system. In 2 weeks = the piano will have settled and be usually just a hair low but out of = tune with itself. After that the 3 month tuning will stabilize it and = by that time the piano will be under control. Then every 6 months. = Since they have seen what an ordeal it is to get it to A-440 and stable, = hopefully they will see the value of regular tuning. Always explain before a = pitch raise that it is just the first of several tunings to raise the = pitch and stabilize the tuning. Myself, I tell them on anything over = 25% low is a pitch raise now. Another tuning in 2 weeks and then in 3 = months. I do not do a pitch raise unless they thoroughly understand = this. I write my own brochures and it explains all about the = peculiarities of a pitch raised piano and the expectations of such. You = will learn how to be firm and exude confidence in your words with time = and will come to not be afraid to speak your truth of pianos and why = they go out of tune.
