Help with "bad" tuning...need help

In James defense,  I sometimes use % as well with my clients.  It is often
simpler for them to get a grip on how far out of tune a piano is with
percentages rather than "cents".  You know, they get all wigged out with
these fancy technical terms.  For whatever reason, I have more success
explaining to my clients that A is 75% of the way to G#.  However, with
other technicians, I see every reason to stick with cents, as at least we
all know what we're referring to - even if we don't understand how to derive
the value :-).
