Hi Julia, I missed your post, and am answering under Dons reply. I am working on a one octave 'chopped up' upright action to demonstrate different regulation, tone, geometric, etc. problems . To demonstrate hammer, damper, butt, key felt problems, in hard, worn out, crusty, moth eaten felt is obvious to us.Leave one hammer, wippen, damper, key unit easily removable,to do so. The more variation in the remainder is the best model. Cosmetically, replace one keytop and black one sharp/flat. The visual aspect of worn parts is important, and an essential tool in educating our customers, employers. Save some eaten up/shot parts and use them in the model. The esoteric, arcane fine points of regulation are I hope are not in question here,as we are talking about demonstration action model. I do not see why you should not build your own.
