To facilitate getting the hammer on the right pin in the temperament section
make markers out of thick front rail punchings.  Punch the center hole larger
to fit over the pin and scribe the note thereupon. Place them on the pins 
of the
unmuted strings and you can hop around without wasting time.

I keep them threaded on thick copper wire (bass string threader) in my tool 
case.
