    I don't think there would be sufficient strength to make much difference, 
plus, there is an impedance question in my mind, (is that what they meant 
when they told me I had a thought impediment?).  I wouldn't like to see anything 
softer than brass entrained between the vibrating string and the plate, 
itself.  I know that the energy absorbtion would be small, but on principle, I would 
have some reservations, (and no, I am not an Indian).
