Well, if we will all turn to pages 4-5 of Merle Mason's "Piano Parts 
and Their Functions", the diagram of a console points to #26 ("Cheek; 
arm, rim arm ((Wurlitzer)) and arm cap ((Story & Clark)) -- but arm, 
etc., are usually reserved for use with grand pianos") which points to 
the vertical front face just above the leg. It doesn't specify the 
curved surface, but that seems to be part of the arm to me. I was 
referring to the vertical surface just above the curved part.
Ah, nomenclature! Does this pass muster, Tom Driscoll?
