Dear People,
Someone spilled a coke years ago on this Yamaha GH1 Grand and the spill
is now a 12" diameter hard scratchy stain on the plate. It looks and feels
like that the undercoat they used to spray underneath autos to keep the fenders
from rusting out. If you are over 40 you know what I mean. Has anyone else
ever had to clean up this kind of a mess?
I am thinking about removing the strings and pins of the affected area
to clean. But what would be a good cleansing agent? Vinegar and water? Or
maybe some kind of paint thinner? Please help, I'm flying blind here. I don't
know yet what damage, if any, it did to the pinblock. But right now I would
be happy if I had some kind of solution to the cleaning problem. Literally and
figuratively.
Thanks a bunch for any help.
