I got this message from Jim Birch about rebuilding an artcase square. If any of you are interested you can contact her. I'm sending this to the list because it is a special case of someone willing to have the piano rebuilt anywhere. Last year my husband and I acquired a spectacular art case ornately carved rosewood square grand piano built in 1859 by William Knabe. We have been using the services of one of your members, Mr. Ken Slater, to tune the piano. The problem is, the piano will not stay in tune, probably due to issues involving the pin block, string bridges, and dry checks in the sound board. We were wondering if you could put out a request to all of your members to see if someone will refer us to a craftsman who can rebuild the musical part of the piano, as the case is in perfect condition, with no need of restoration. We would greatly appreciate your posting this to the members as we really need to get this done soon. Thank you very much, Ron, for any help you can give us.
