Hello List
That's a good post-full of tips from Tom Driscoll, amongst which he =
says: " I put a small amount of acetone on the slots and then =
immediately clean out the old cord and slot with the chisel point of a =
small spade drill bit."
Tell you something that you can make to scrape the old cord ends from =
the flange slots: get one of those plastic coat hangers with a metal =
hook. Remove the plastic hangar. With your grinder or a file, reshape =
the end which was in the plastic to resemble a hook similar to a =
soundboard crack scraper. The grinding wheel has to have a sharp corner =
to do this. Then, in use, you simply hang on to the big hook and drag =
that sharpened scraper towards you and remove all the old glue and loop =
cord. I like the Acetone bit.
