Usually once every couple of summers, I take a high, deep dive at my 
favorite swimming hole, and come up with ear wax jammed into the end 
of my ear canal. I've never had trouble doing my best unisons with 
such muted hearing, but couldn't begin to guess at the actual timbre 
of these unisons. Voicing requires a whole 'nuther level of hearing.
