Ach, zee plot, she thickens!

Better tell him to save his money.  In the meantime, is the piano on carpet?
If so, I'd recommend getting one of those plastic mats that folks put by
their desks for their rolling chairs.  They come in big sizes (and help keep
benches from falling apart).  That would help increase volume.  Or he could
amplify the piano and blow his ears out.  Otherwise, let him get mad at you
and then he can call in someone else to deal with an impossible situation!
