Depending on how obsessive you choose to get about overpulling, it helps a lot to keep a record of how close your overpulling was when you are doing the second pass. That way, especially with models of pianos you see often, you will be able to adjust the overpull amount in the different ranges of the keyboard to come VERY close after the first pass. (A p-22 reacts differently from a 1098, or a story & clark console) The percentages will vary from tuner to tuner depending on hammer technique, and pin setting practice. You will need to find out what works for you. Remember that overpulling isn't so much single note specific, as it is a reaction to the overall system shifting. Don't let your overpull react to a poor measurement, or one string that is way off compared to all the rest in the section. Keep an eye on what you've been overpulling so you don't get tricked into doing too much or too little on one note.
