This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Dave, You'll probably do just fine, and I wouldn't worry about it too = much. Are you aware of the special conditions that they will require on = the tuning test, namely 2/1 octaves in the top end? Most people don't = tune like that usually, but they ask you to do it that way for the exam. = With the tolerances allowed for in the test, it sounds really daunting = on paper, but when you get right down to it, you'd have to make some = pretty serious mistakes in your tuning in order to blow the test. I = just think it's worded wrong... Concentrate on getting A4 exactly on pitch, get a good temperament, = and the piano will practically tune itself. The test piano will be one = that you won't have to fight with. Good Luck. You worry too much. I'm going to take the tuning test sometime in = April. I have gone over the PTG requirements for passing. 80% correct = is required. Does this mean that 80 percent of the notes in each = section have to be right on the money with no variance allowed? Is = there a certain allowance of cents off?=20 I've been checking my aural temperaments with tunelab, and am finding = that about half of the notes are spot on(+/- zero cents), another two = thirds or so are 1 cent off on either side, and the remainder are 2 = cents off, with a very occasional 3 cent miss. Would this pass muster = for the temperament section?=20 Thanks in advance,=20 Dave Stahl=20 NRPTY(not RPT yet) ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
