Cracked Plate

The plate is probably NOT cracked. The model number shown in your photo 
and sometimes the Kawai logo,also on the plate, appear to be part of 
the casting. However, I have seen several older model Kawai grands 
where these are non-metalic castings that are added to the plate, glued 
on in some fashion before the plate is gilded and finished and can come 
completely un-stuck and will eventually come off...often taking small 
sheets of the gilding off with it.
