Cheap Hearing Aids Old Sandy was getting a bit hard of hearing but was too careful with his money to contemplate buying a hearing aid. But he had a piece of flex (he never threw anything useful away) and inserted one end in his ear and the other in his top pocket. Of course, that didn't improve his hearing but he found that most people spoke more loudly and distinctly when they saw he had a "hearing aid" so he was indeed able to hear more. John M.
