---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment We've all got tales of woe involving piano abuse in high schools. Those broken hammers in the photo the other day were heart-wrenching. I don't have anything that bad to report, but I did have an interesting call today. Last year I tuned this same piano, same time of year, accompanied by a high-volume dress-rehearsal of "Godspell" in the auditorium that was only a swinging door away. Today, same junker Baldwin K(too bad, musta been a nice piano at one time), different cast, different play. A0 has a loose tuning pin, so I decide to CA it. I started to remove the action, when all kinds of flotsam and jetsam dumped out on the floor, including about 23 hinge screws that held the front part of the lid on at one point in time. I get the action about halfway out, and there it is: a petrified burrito, in its entirety. ouldn't see the salsa, though. I guess someone went hungry that day.... As Bill Ballard's quote says, "may life give you interesting pianos to work on," or something such. Interesting isn't always good, but it does occasionally offer us a chance to smile.
