Hey Phil-----this is the best advice you can get; lifting, leveling, and
seating  the strings---and then making sure the hammers are fit to the
strings--- will make a profound difference in the voice of the instrument.

Which means, very, very conservatively, with one needle close to the crown,
and lower on the shoulders if the hammer doesn't seem "springy" enough to
you.

Yes yes yes---and here's a tip: when the glides are set in the usual manner,
then give each glide bolt pin a 1/4 turn DOWN creating slightly more contact
with the keybed; the treble end of the piano will seem to "open up and
sing."
