That's a CYA "thing" because they'd had so many techs who'd ruined hammers
by overdoing it and they got tired of replacing hammers under warranty!! NOT
because steam is inherently bad. I don't blame them at all!

I don't know about the CFIII's, but as far as the others are concerned, I'd 
use
it in a minute! Actually, I have. With VERY good results!
