Provisional means mostly those folks who got "messed with" and had the presence of mind to demand a vote anyway. In other words, mostly poor, black, and Democratic. Do you think those pissed off voters might have favored Kerry by 75%? If so, Kerry could have won. Peace, Sarah Sarah, I truly mean no offense. But you are ranting on about this with absolutely no facts. You have no proof that the provisional ballots were mostly poor black democrats. And you obviously don't understand just what a provisional ballot is. It's when people show up to vote, and they aren't listed as being registered. It's a way to try and keep people from voting twice, without causing them to not be able to vote at all. Historically, almost half of the provisional ballots turn out to legitimately be bogus attempts for people who aren't registered to vote, to vote. I'm sorry, but I don't care if you're rich, white, and living in a mansion, if you don't have the good sense to follow the law and register to vote properly, you don't have the right to vote. The only way you can maintain order is to set rules and then make everyone play by them. Next, Ohio has a long standing method by which they factor these provisional ballots into the picture, and it's one that makes complete sense. If the number of votes separating the two parties involved is larger than the number of provisional ballots, then there is no reason to not go ahead and call the election for the one with the most votes. In other words, if the one with the most votes has 500 more votes than the other guy, and there are only 300 provisional ballots, common sense tells you that you aren't going to find enough votes for the loser among 300 ballots to come up with more than 500 votes. Even if every single provisional ballot is a vote for the loser (which is a statistical impossibility) you would still be 200 votes short, and the loser would still be the loser. You are engaging in conspiritorial nonsense Sarah, trying to create boogiemen to blame for your party's loss rather than look at the real reason you lost not only the presidency, but seats in both the house and senate. That's what's wrong with your party Sarah. Your party sticks its head in the sand, and refuses to look at what America needs and wants. With this election, your party was roundly rejected. Instead of clinging tighter to the ideology that has failed you once again, perhaps it is time to open your eyes and ears and start listening to the voices that are trying to tell you why your party is rapidly becoming not only irrelevant, but dangerous as well. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
