buzzing strings, blow distance

Working on a small grand I could hear soundboard buzzes when playing
chromatic notes. But playing individual notes I couldn't seem to hear it.
Turns out to be hard damper felt buzzing the strings, and the dampers aren't
that old.

This is the Lyon & Healy (5'6") I've got in for a new set of Wurzen hammers
and Arledge bass strings. The hammers and strings sound wonderful. But I had
trouble setting up the action. I had to go to 1 5/8 blow distance to get
enough aftertouch. Key dip is 13/32 and I didn't really want to go any
deeper. Jack alignment under knuckles is good as is repetition lever height.
Any thoughts?

At 1 5/8 everything seems to work pretty well. Nice touch, very responsive.

Gooood point. Yes they buzz when sounding. Some of the dampers did buzz on
return,
so managed to fix those. I'm supposing that maybe they buzzed before the
coke
? ! ?
Possible that these are baaaaaad strings. Must replace one bad one to
ascertain
for sure.
Thanks.
