I usually think of an oversize pin being one with a larger diameter, but =
looking at my pile of 7mm Yamaha pins, and your description of 17mm pins =
it seems that you must be talking about *longer* pins, n'est-ce pas? I =
didn't know there was such a thing (so much to learn!).

Do you repin loose pins with longer ones, bigger diameter, or both?

Sure it works, I am just more old fashioned when it comes to this and =
my personal common sense, plus long time experience, tells me that an =
oversize pin, let us say from mm 16.9 to mm 17,2 (which is almost =
nothing really) is a very safe and very reliable solution, without any =
danger of a pin block cracking.
