Yes, in my experience ,if nobody messed around with the brocken stem,"fish tail" technic works the best.there are a few Sreinways with extremely hard brass or even steel material and those are the hardest to remove. To drill through brass you don't need ant special drills,brass is a soft,man-made material,suppost to be slippery,self-lubricating.You didn't send me the serial number of this Steinway,I need it for my records and curiosity.Best regards!
