The Zimmermans that I have serviced all have damper guide wires buzzing =
on the bass strings.

Hi,Terry! I'm familiar with Zimmerman Petit Grands. They were made in =
former communist East Germany and were popular, hard to find in my old =
country,Ex-Soviet Union. The size was appropriate for very small =
government apartments, the quality was a lot better that anything =
produced in Russia,so>>>
In the late 1980 they tried to sell their product in USA and a few =
hundred of those are in people's homes. The cabinets are very attractive =
,but technically speaking...Yes,they could use a lot of improvements:the =
hammers are severely angled, very little space in the bass and low-mid =
tenor, hammer tails need to be trimmed to provide necessary =
clearance.Overall,re pinning of hammers and whippens presents problem in =
a few years...Pay attention to the shifting system,in the nearest future =
it will need some serious repair, when a problem with "sticky keys" will =
appear. Been there, done it! If any more questions regarding this =
topic-feel free to communicate. Best Regards! Isaac.=20

I tuned a 1980 Zimmerman micro grand today - my first one. Kind of =
a dead less-than-stellar piano. Is Zimmerman kinda like the Kimball of =
Germany?
