Hello Jim,

Baldwins have that feature too.  The reason could also
be that this allows the bridges to be located more
centrally on the soundboard, not as close to the rim.

I had always thought that M&H was the only one to have
a greater than 90 degree angle between the front and
the left side, the idea being to enlarge the
soundboard area,
