The loop does stand the string elevation a bit higher off the plate & this needs to be taken into consideration especially when setting up a new bridge height. With an old bridge your stuck with what you got unless you drop the plate a mm or so to accommodate the change before restringing. Dale Erwin I suppose tho that since the loop (being thicker) will force the string to come off the hitch pins a bit higher then otherwise. Perhaps before using this on any old piano it might be a good idea remember this when considering the angle the string needs comming off the back side of the bridge ?
