This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hello Dale, Ric and List Depends which way up you put the loop on the hitch pin surely?:-) Regards from a beautifully sunny Downland village Michael G.(UK) ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Erwinspiano@aol.com=20 To: pianotech@ptg.org=20 Sent: Sunday, April 10, 2005 3:57 PM Subject: Re: Double German eye (was "Jolly Loop") Hey Ric=20 Good point . The loop does stand the string elevation a bit higher = off the plate & this needs to be taken into consideration especially = when setting up a new bridge height. With an old bridge your stuck with = what you got unless you drop the plate a mm or so to accommodate the = change before restringing. Dale Erwin I suppose tho that since the loop (being thicker) will force the = string=20 to come off the hitch pins a bit higher then otherwise. Perhaps = before=20 using this on any old piano it might be a good idea remember this = when=20 considering the angle the string needs comming off the back side of = the=20 bridge ? =20 Cheers RicB Erwins Pianos Restorations=20 4721 Parker Rd.
