I use this bag.
http://www.lowepro.com/Products/Shoulder_Bags/classic/Nova_5_AW.aspx
It has a shoulder strap, and numerous adjustable compartments, and pouches.
The front pouch carry tuning hammers and longer stuff. I use a tool roll for
most long skinny tools, and have a dozen tobacco tins for misc stuff like
flanges, pins, screws etc. They stack in 3 layers of 4 in one compartment.
The last time I weighed mine it was 28lbs. I can do most jobs from this bag,
an very seldom have to go to my van for anything else.
I started out with a minimum of contents, and added stuff as my use of an
item increased. Mind you there is quite a bit that I seldom use, so
possibly, I should be removing stuff that I use infrequently.
