Hi Terry,
The VTcan fit in the end, on end, it leaves over 8" for other stuff. 
Remember, there is a wool strip, and the edges of the quilted dividers, have 
velcro, so you can customize it. It is after all for cameras and lenses.
I could put a VT in it and move some compartments around and take a photo, 
if you want, probably not till tomorrow.
I like it, it is fully adaptable, and tough. I went through 2 camera bags 
before this. Inside is 13"X6" and 8" high. The top has an inside pocket full 
length, and an outside pocket with a pocket in it. Front pocket 2" X 14" for 
tuning hammers and long stuff, it also has an extra zippered pocket. Two 
side pockets to slide stuff in, stretchy nylon mesh.
