Alan .. I laughed so hard and loud , my wife came into my office to
see who the hell
was in there with me. I've used that example myself many times, about
tuning a violin
each time it's played, and sometimes you see guitar players, on national
TV tune whilst
playing accompanyment for some high calibre singer., of course a piano
doesn't need
tuning, except maybe every 10 years or so. Had a consol, little beast
with cracked
bass bridge, which I was able to resusitate, and make do around Xmas of
this year.
Hadn't been tuned for at least 10 years, and used by the fellow as
accomp. for his
voice while he practised his choir stuff. Well I tuned it as well as I
could at that time,
and told them to please call when it's convenient soon as possible after
xmas to do again.
Well I finally got back there today, and tuned it much better than
before, because it was
possible this time. Well the woman couldn't understand why it was out of
tune so soon.
I guess she assumed it was perfect the last time, and I didn't have the
heart to tell her that
it wasn't perfect when it was new 50 years ago. WHATEVER ,( like the
kids say.)
Sure enjoyed your posting ,Alan. Thank you for the best laugh I've had
this week.
